certain number of these to be passed. The selection is:
It's a traditional approach. You decide which exams you want to take, you purchase study material...and crack on. You then take the exam at the prescribed sitting dates. J01 - Personal TaxationThe CII's J01 exam is a popular choice for the Diploma in Financial Planning. It is a 2-hour short answer question paper consisting of 15 questions, with a nominal pass mark of 55%. The CII recommend 100 hours of study for this paper, although this can vary greatly from person to person. The exam syllabus covers the basic structure of the tax system and self-assessment; taxes charged to individuals on income and capital gains, how this works with self-assessment and how tax liabilities are calculated; residence and domicile and how this affects an individual's liability to tax in the UK. J06 - Investment principles, markets and environmentsThe CII's J06 exam forms part of the Diploma in Financial Planning. It is a 2-hour short answer question paper consisting of 15 questions, with a nominal pass mark of 55%. The CII recommend 100 hours of study for this paper, although this can vary greatly from person to person. The exam syllabus covers how investment performance and decision making is affected by the economic environment and individual company performance; how risk is measured and managed; principles governing how to construct an investment portfolio; the range of investment management services available and how they are regulated and how their performance is evaluated. J07 : Supervision in a regulated environmentThe CII's J07 exam forms part of the Diploma in Financial Planning. It is a 2-hour short answer question paper consisting of 15 questions, with a nominal pass mark of 55%. The exam syllabus covers the role and characteristics of a supervisor; leadership and behavioural models; communication; training and competence; the processes of coaching, counselling and assessing; compliance; setting and measuring objectives; management information and quality standards; and laws relating to employment, performance management and termination of employment.
