CeMAP® 1 eCourse Day 1Where We Are TodayWelcome to the first day of your eCourse. The subject we're looking at today is covered under syllabus U1.1 to U1.1 Its all to do with an introduction to financial services, the Bank of England, who's in the market and such. A nice relaxing start to your eCourse. This small bit covers 10% of the marks for Unit 1. In other words about 4 or 5 questions in the actual exam. Your Reading AssignmentClick here to access the CeMAP® 1 Revision Guide. Here you should read pages 5 to 11. You don't need to do anymore or do any of the tests in the book yet. These will be directed for you to do later in the eCourse. You might want to save the guide to your hard-disk for referring to tomorrow and other days or print it off. In addition you ought to then read the section in the ifs School of Finance textbook for CeMAP® 1. This eCourse follows the syllabus so the page numbers may not be from the beginning but don't worry the whole book will be covered. You should study pages 3 to 15 of the September 2008 book. Naturally you can do other reading and the best place to start is the internet. There are thousands of sites to help explain things. The Financial Services Authority have a really good site at: http://www.moneymadeclear.fsa.gov.uk One of my favourites is the Motley Fool at: But don't just read the textbook as that can be really dull. Instead break up your study by doing the activity challenge below and the multi choice questions. Everyone learns differently. Your ActivityClick here to
access the CeMAP® 1 Active Learning Workbook. Today I'd like
you to do three activities to help you learn. Number 2 - FS
Crossword, number 3 - FS Marketplace and number 4 - Money
Transmission. They are on pages 5 to 13. Your Multiple Choice Questions
Your MP3 DownloadWe'll be joining our team of experts tomorrow and throughout our CeMAP® eCourses. We recorded these people having a discussion in a studio and on location around the UK. They're discussing the subject and bringing it to life for you. Watch out for tomorrow. But for today we have a special treat for you. You're going to join a live teleseminar recorded this year involving an expert talking about the subject and real audience questions. Interesting stuff. Its a complete one hour telephone seminar. To access this MP3 file now you'll want to right click your mouse here to save to your computer hard-drive. Then either listen to it on your computer or transfer it to a MP3 Player or your iPod.
