The Sequence - a Creative Thinking Quiz
All energisers and ice breakers simply must have a meaning, a link
to the session or to a phrase that pays. This one is no
different and points to creative thinking or thinking "outside the
box"
It can also help to remove limiting beliefs that people hold.
Equipment you will need
- Handouts pre-printed. Click
here to download the
handout in Word format
Trainer Instructions
- Invite the group to form teams of 2 or 3 people each, no
bigger
- Hand out the quiz sheet and give them 10 minutes to complete
the answers on the sheet
- Offer a prize for the winning team
- No mention of creativity.
Debrief
- Share the answers with the group
- Draw out from the groups what they learnt from the quiz now
they know the answers. Agree that thinking outside the box
would have given them the correct solutions as much of the time
we tend to tackle problems in the same manner with the same
mindset as previously used.
- Ask if anyone in the teams had a limiting beliefs before
they tackled the problems e.g. a fear of maths, if so did they
overcome them.
Variations
- You can give the answers to the first question and if the
teams are completely stymied on the next answers, let them
tackle them again, now they have been told about "thinking
outside the box"
- You'll be amazed as to how this motivates teams to finish
the quiz
