The Perfect Square

A deceptively simple activity for team cohesion and communication, particularly suitable for telephone users who don't see their customers.

Equipment you will need

  • Several clean blindfolds (you can get these on eBay for a £1 each - remember to launder them)
  • Large rope - tow rope will do.
  • Large space indoors or outdoors

Instructions

  • The whole team should stand blindfolded, all facing each other, holding onto the circle of rope. Without removing the blindfolds at any time, the team must manoeuvre themselves to create a "perfect square" in the rope

Variations

  • You could ask some members not to say anything - tricky though
  • When they're ready, ask them not to move as they remove their blindfold.  They'll be amazed how difficult it is.
