Staying on the Balcony – NLP strategies to handle reactive challenging and stressful work situations

Overview and benefits

Picture the scene if you would please.

Your organisation has gone through some massive change during the recession of the last few years, imposed pressure, shortened deadlines, imposed new systems, constant demands. And these often head your way.  You're also finding yourself reacting to challenges and emergencies where you would want the time and space to consider further before acting.

Recognised the situation?

This is happening right here right now.  Firms now in an economic upswing are asking for more and more of their existing managers and teams. Soon economic growth expectations will allow for re-hiring and recruitment but until then, it's down to you.

Paul's hour long content rich webinar, based on his live presentation, will arm you with the tools and strategies that you need to be able to handle all these situations effectively. Be able to stand back and deal with whatever is thrown at you without being sucked into the turmoil that the pressures and demands can create.

To remain “on the balcony”, where considered and objective plans can be decided to handle the situation more effectively.

Using the advanced thinking available from NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), Paul will share with you some tools that you can use immediately in your work. Mixing processes, tips and skills with humour and stories, Paul will engage your attention in this highly participative session.

The NLP tools shown are vastly flexible and can be used the next day and will help you reduce any anxiety or pressure felt in business interactions.

And give you a distinct business advantage.

Detailed content

Staying on the balcony model looks like:

  • Open ears
  • Shut up
  • Know thyself
  • Stay on the balcony.

The one hour content rich webinar will teach you how to:

  1. Handle your inner voice, your damaging self talk, to enable you to focus on the “now” rather than dwelling on fears and anxieties.
  2. Examine the “I can handle this” personal belief system, so if you ever find yourself wavering or doubting yourself, you can quickly recover.
  3. Change your state of mind at will, continue to manage your own mind and not allow your thoughts or language to be become destructive so as to remain self confident under all stresses and strains
  4. Examine some of the NLP Meta Programmes which will help you analyse how you “tick” and to give you flexibility to change when needed.
  5. Use a visual graphic equaliser to be able to adjust your style at will to suit the challenge.
  6. Create personal flexibility by working with the 3 Perceptual Positions, which help you see things from differing perspectives. This tool helps you to remain flexible when considering the solutions, see issues from others' point of view, and buys you time.
  7. Problem solve using the renowned Walt Disney Strategy, which allows for a different approach to problem solving. This tool gives you the confidence to know you can solve most problems put to you and promotes a team approach to the solution.
